What is ISCC certification?

ISCC is the first international certification programme that can be used to test the sustainability and greenhouse gas emission reduction of all types of biomass and bioenergy.

To who is the ISCC aimed at?

  1. Farmers, cooperatives and other associations of producers and traders of plant raw materials for the production of biofuels and bioliquids.
  2. Waste collectors, processors and traders of raw materials for the production of biofuels and bioliquids, producers of used cooking oil, excluding households, and the managers of such waste.

  • Apply for certification for all industries, including agricultural producers, valorisers, trade, industry, NGOs, associations, research institutes and authorities.
  • Get a specific ISCC website with certificates and compliance statements
  • Confirmation on the sustainability of your products.
  • Create a market for sustainable products, both from a consumer and manufacturer point of view.

Self-declaration

Points of origin (including OAU producers) can sign and provide a self-declaration to the collection point (Oleotorres) instead of becoming individually certified.

What is a self-declaration and why is it important?

Self-declarations are important tools to ensure traceability back to the point of origin.
With a self-declaration the point of origin:

  • Declares compliance with ISCC requirements relevant to waste.
  • Confirms the type of waste
  • Allows external auditors access to facilities to verify compliance with requirements
  • Material can only be collected as sustainable from points of origin that have signed a self-declaration.

Who signs the self-declaration?

  • Points of origin (including OAU producers) where waste is generated
  • Individually certified points of origin do not sign a self-declaration (delivery of material with sustainability declaration)

Self-declaration OAU producers (canal HORECA)

OAU producers in the HORECA Channel may sign self-declarations as follows:

  • Through the contract
  • Completing the self-declaration and sending it to info@oleotorres.pt
  • By signing for each OAU delivery the receipt containing the following information: “By signing this document, the terms and conditions of the self-declaration under the ISCC-EU as published on the website apply and are a valid part”.

Commitment to our customers/OAU producers

The self-declaration on this page is part of the contract between Oleotorres and its customers/OAU producers.
In the contracts/Booklet presented to the OAU customers/producers, reference is made to the self-declarations. With the signing of the contract/Transfer Document, they will be considered accepted from the date on which it comes into force. The reference to the self-declarations is made quoting, in the contract/card, the terms and conditions presented in this web page, it will be considered accepted if the OAU customer/producer does not express his/her opposition to Oleotorres, within 14 days after having become aware of the terms and conditions.
